Description
Fried Pickle Chips are a great appetizer. They are easy and quick to prepare. We’re using dill chips, but bread and butter pickles are also sometimes used. Your choice.
Ingredients
1 cup Buttermilk
1 Tablespoon Texas Pete Hot Sauce.
1 cup Flour
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon of Salt
1/2 teaspoon of Paprika
Instructions
Place the buttermilk in a small container.
Add the Texas Pete Hot Sauce.
Stir well to combine.
Place the flour in another small container.
Add the garlic powder.
Add the black pepper.
Add the salt.
Add the paprika.
Stir all the dry ingredients together until combined.
Drain juice from pickles.
Place pickles on a paper towel. Remove really thin slices. Pat the rest dry.
Place slices in buttermilk. Toss to fully coat.
Place a few slices in the flour mixture. Toss to fully coat.
Shake off excess flour before frying.
Place about one inch of cooking oil in a heavy skillet.
Place skillet over Medium heat and bring oil up to 350F degrees for frying.
Carefully add some of the pickle slices to the oil.
Fry until the bottom edges begin to turn brown.
Flip the slices over and continue to fry until lightly golden all over.
Remove from oil and drain.
Serve warm.
