This is a cool and refreshing way to use some of those fresh Strawberries while they are in season. Super easy to make. This recipe makes 2 milkshakes.

1/2 pound fresh Strawberries, hulls removed, rinsed and chopped.
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Flavoring
1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream
1/2 cup Milk, or as needed

Remove hulls and stems from fresh strawberries. Rinse under cool running water. Drain.
Chop the berries into very small pieces.
Add sugar.
Add vanilla flavoring.
Stir well and set aside for about 30 minutes.
Place ice cream in a blender.
Add the strawberry mixture.
Add milk.
Blend until smooth or as desired.
Serve in tall glasses while cold.

This printable recipe is for making 2 milkshakes at the same time using a large blender. See the post for instructions on making individual milkshakes.

The berries need to sit for about 30 minutes after you add the sugar. This helps draw liquid out of the berries and sweeten the berries even more.
